Manager of Fan Experience

Reports to: Senior Director of Fan Experience

Position Summary
The Manager of Fan Experience will play a pivotal role in growing and nurturing meaningful relationships with our fans and supporters through physical and virtual experiences to build excitement, momentum, and a sense of belonging ahead of play in 2026.

Without our fans we wouldn’t have the most passionate cheering section for our inaugural season and beyond. With fans and supporter groups playing such a pivotal role in our Club’s development, a dedicated resource to support the growth of these groups is vital. In this role, you’ll help shape and support both fan and supporter culture, building from the ground up. The ideal candidate has people-first orientation and a passion for sports. They will focus on maintaining the heartbeat of our fan activities leading up to and on game days.

The ideal candidate has people-first orientation, is passionate about the NWSL, and has experience launching and managing experience-centric marketing campaigns. 

Responsibilities
In addition to other duties as assigned, the Manager of Fan Experience will be responsible for: 

Engaging Supporters

  • Proactively engage with supporters, responding to comments, messages, and mentions to foster positive interactions and build meaningful relationships.
  • Liaise with Supporter Groups, ensuring they feel heard and seen by understanding their needs, amplifying their voice within the Club, and fostering a sense of belonging. 
  • Manage inbound communication, including monitoring for concerns and moderating user-generated content.

Omnichannel Campaign Management

  • Partner closely with Club stakeholders to plan and execute campaigns that drive growth while optimizing resources.
  • Plan, execute, and promote campaigns and events, leveraging various communication channels such as email, SMS, and social media.
  • Manage the event lifecycle, from pre-event promotion to onsite engagement to post-event follow-up.

Drive Fan Driven Content

  • Develop content to engage, excite, and grow our channels.
  • Align content creation efforts with overarching social media strategy, ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging.
  • Develop compelling written, visual, and multimedia content (e.g., blog posts, reels, infographics) to promote and increase supporter engagement.

Desired Characteristics

  • Passion for soccer and advancing equity through sport.
  • Connection to and strong understanding of the City of Boston and surrounding area.  
  • 3+ years of experience experience launching and managing community-centric marketing initiatives  (e.g., building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, writing a recurring content series)
  • A flair for creativity and an eye for detail, down to the last character, image crop, and line break.
  • Fluency with industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms. 
  • Startup and/or sports experience is a plus.
  • Location & Availability

    Currently in or willing to relocate to Boston; able to work in-person on a regular basis and attend events on nights and weekends from time to time as needed. 

  • Compensation & Benefits

    Compensation will consist of salary and company-sponsored benefits and will be commensurate with the experience of the selected candidate.

Meet The Founders

JENNIFER EPSTEIN

Jennifer has had a front row seat to developing a beloved sports franchise- her family became co-owners and managing partners of the Boston Celtics in 2002. She is the co-founder of Wildlife Hospitality— the creator of award-winning Boston restaurant concepts like The Beehive. Jennifer is the founder of Juno Equity, a fund backing women-led companies, and a Trustee for the Institute of Contemporary Art where she created a fund for female artists.

STEPHANIE CONNAUGHTON

Stephanie is a strategic marketer, innovator and brand builder, having led the creation of over 7 brands including the Gillette Venus. She invented a yoga mat anchored by 4 utility patents and counts herself as one of Boston’s experts on early stage consumer start-ups advising dozens of companies in our city. She is an avid Patriots Fan, Harvard Collegiate Lacrosse Player, and her family is part of the investor/founder group and Board Member of the Boston Celtics.

AMI KUAN DANOFF

Ami is a philanthropic innovator and tech investor, co-founding the Women’s Foundation of Boston which funds high impact programs serving the women and girls of Greater Boston. Ami is the lead funder of Raxia, an AI-powered platform for revenue cycle management. A former Putnam portfolio manager and Fidelity equity analyst, Ami graduated from Harvard and holds dual MS degrees from MIT Sloan. She is a Harvard Quantum Founder and a member of the Harvard FAS Dean’s Council.

ANNA PALMER

Anna is an entrepreneur and experienced investor, investing in early stage companies as a General Partner at Flybridge Capital and co-founding XFactor Ventures— one of the most active seed funds backing female entrepreneurs. She is a Harvard Law graduate, passionate soccer fan, and a long-time member of the American Outlaws U.S. Soccer supporters group.
